 We, the Peruvian fans, are very happy to see that day by day more ways of communication publish different reports about RAIN’s work. Now, I come to share some info that was published in one of the most popular magazines among Young people of our city (Lima) in its second edition of February 2010 in a report about the movie “Ninja Assassin”.

 Here I’m going to share with you the scan of the magazine and the translation to English.

Trained to kill

Raizo (Rain) is a terrible assassin who was trained since he was a very little kid by the Ozunu clan, but obsessed for the cruel death of his friend by the hands of that sect, he had to run away from them. Some time later, the agent Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) investigates some politician’s murders that will convert her in a victim of this terrible organization. For that event Raizo will find a great opportunity to destroy that legendary group and get revenge for his friend’s death.

How it was done?

Ninja assassin was directed by the important director James McTeigue (V is for revenge) and count with the Wachowski brothers production. The movie was filmed first of all in the studios Babelsberg in Berlin, Germany, at the end of April of 2008, with a budget of 10 million dollars.

The Corean actor Rain (who acted in Speed racer) is the protagonist of this film, which is an adaptation of the famous anime “Ninja Scroll”. The idea of the filming started with the ninja scenes that Rain acted in the movie produced by the Wachowski brothers “Speed racer”. The actor impressed everybody with his talent in martial arts.

Rain (27), which real name is Jeong Ji-hoon, is not only an important South Corean actor, he is also well known as a singer, model and designer. He said that he had to do a lot of efforts for this movie: “I had to exercise a lot, like Bruce Lee. I trained for eight months, five days a week, eight hours per day. I also learned many martial arts: taekwondo, tai chi, kung fu, ninja techniques with swords, chains and so on. It was horrible, but rewarding”.

The other actor who performed the young version of Raizo, Lee Joon (21), is also a singer (a member of the group MBLAQ) and it his first time in a movie. “Working in this movie with Rain in Germany was a difficult pain and brings me a lot of suffering, but I was very happy to watch the complete movie”, he said. “To practice martial arts was the most difficult thing but I was able to do it. It was one of the worst things I had to pass for, I only had two action scenes, and meanwhile Rain had to do those scenes all the time. He had to be on a strict diet and his training was very hard”.

-         The actor Lee Joon broke his nose when hi was doing his scenes.

-         Rain confessed that the most difficult thing for him was the diet he had to do, because he loves chocolates.

-         After Raizo is caught and chained to the wall, one of his kidnappers look to the camera and says: “He seems to be a member of a boy band” We have to mention that Rain started his musical career in the boy band Fanclub.
